What Role Could Drawing
Play in the Development of Primary School Children Education in Pakistan?
Why drawing subject is significant in the
Pakistani primary education curriculum
and why kids should be taught the drawing
skills, and what are the existing teaching and learning methods in drawing as a
creative practice in Pakistan?
- To analyze the drawing curriculum and education
policies of Pakistani primary education critically, and to study the broader context of drawing school in cognitive development through
literature.
- To investigate how drawing education exchange overtime
in Pakistan and what are the reasons behind the changes.
- To study types of drawing practices implemented for
cognitive development in primary education and conduct a focus group
discussion with primary school teachers about how drawing is helpful in
creative development for primary school children.
- To evaluate why drawing is so important and why kids
should be taught the skill at primary school level and to find the
existing teaching and learning methods in drawing as a creative practice in
Pakistan.
In light of my research question and objectives,
this study will investigate as the following method;
The first part of the question and the first two
objectives of the study will be investigated through the available literature
reviews and archival research that comprises the educational policies and
curriculums of Pakistani primary education.
The second part of the question and third the objective will enquire from the educationist and drawing teachers through face
to face discussions and interview protocol as a participants-oriented approach.
Last part of the question and objective is based
on the mix-method that is available literature and focus group discussions with
educators and scholars.
The selected method will help me to analyse the
non-professional methods and obsoleted drawing education and practices in
primary school children education in Pakistan for the development of creative
growth.
Your research appears to me much more focused.
ReplyDeleteYour research design suggests two methods:
1 archival/ literature research:
Justification/ explanation
You need to say clearly what you want to achieve by doing this.
Detail
You need to be specific about what you will do, how and when! In other words:
You should specify which archives you will use and how you plan to investigate them;
You should specify which which forms of documentation you will use;
You should specify when you will do this (your plan).
1 face to face discussion:
Justification/ explanation
You need to say clearly what you want to achieve by doing this.
Detail
You need to be specific about what you will do, how and when! In other words:
Which conversational method will you use (individual interview, group interview, focus group);
How will you design the method (interview at school or away from school, how long, structured, semi-structured or free interview) and explain why this is best way to meet your aim;
Who will be your subjects (be precise about their role, status, how many of them will you interview);
How will you record the dialogue (does it matter?).

I feel that two methods is insufficient Nusrat. What seems missing to me is the classroom experience (the classroom is the moment when curriculum and teacher meets the reality of the child and should be part of your inquiry). I would suggest some form of classroom observation would add greatly to your research

Finally for each method do some basic research to help you design detailed, flexible and robust tools of inquiry.
